The best way to reach us is by email at hello@coastfireplanner.com. We usually reply within a few business days. Coast FIRE Planner is an independent site run from Ontario, Canada, so replies come during Eastern Time working hours.

Good reasons to write:

• You think a calculator gave a wrong or confusing result.
• You found an error, an outdated figure or a broken link in a guide.
• You want to know how a number was worked out, beyond what our methodology page explains.
• You have an idea for a calculator, a feature or a guide that would help you.
• You run a blog or publication and want to mention or link to one of our tools.

What to include

If your question is about a result, the quickest way for us to see what you saw is the share link. Every calculator has a Copy share link button that saves your inputs in the web address. Paste that link into your email and tell us which number looks wrong and what you expected. The link contains only the numbers you typed, never your name.

For a guide, tell us the page and the sentence or table you mean, and the source you're comparing it with if you have one.

Corrections

We take accuracy seriously. If you show us a mistake, we'll check it against the original source or the calculator's engine, fix it, and note the change on the page (the date at the top of each guide shows when it was last updated). Changes to how a calculator works are also recorded on the methodology page.

What we can't help with

We're not licensed financial advisers, so we can't tell you what to invest in, whether you can afford to retire, or how to handle your taxes. We're happy to explain how our calculators and guides work. For advice about your own situation, please talk to a qualified professional. See our terms of use for more.

We don't sell advertising space or sponsored posts directly, and we don't accept payment to change what a calculator shows or what a guide says. How the site is funded is explained on our About page.

Your privacy

We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list. Please don't send account numbers, passwords or other sensitive details. Our privacy policy explains how email to us is handled.
